This week we are mostly…reading about why we sleep
We’ve just finished handing ‘Why We Sleep’ by Matthew Walker, Professor of Neuroscience at UC Berkeley, round the team.
It’s official: none of us get enough sleep. And we’re all slightly terrified, because we now understand just how important sleep is. We now understand how, far from being an ‘off switch’, crucial brain work is undertaken while we sleep. How our sleep changes as we age – and why the old adage that ‘you need less sleep as you get older’ is a myth. How sleep affects our emotions, our intellect and our health. How and when we should be napping.
If you need us, we’ll be catching up on decades of neglect – under a duvet.
